Sometimes you work really hard for something.
Sometimes you finally go to New York, get a cool model, buy books from some Pakistanian guy who wanted a lot of money from them because he tried to convince you that it was his now dead son’s books, go to a rooftop, spend 1½ hours in Photoshop and then you find out that it all just wasn’t as great as you had imagined.
This is when it really hurts to kill your darling and let it go.
Here’s a timelapse showing what I thought could be something amazing, but in the end I just really wasn’t feeling it. I feel like this is important for us to recognize as we can all be tempted to go below our standard in order to “provide content”.
In theory I might return to this image one day and try a different approach. I see some potential, and it might come. Some day.
